Troop 351 – Madison, AL

Welcome to the Troop 351 Website!

We meet on Monday nights 7-8:30 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church,
in the Hope Building (980 Hughes Road). 

Current Announcements (May 21)

  • Collin Cruzen Eagle Work Day this Saturday May 12th 8:30am – 1pm Bradford Creek Trailhead, on Mill road.
  • Please note that on May 31st, the U.S. Space and Rocket Center’s Thursday night “Biergarten” will be to benefit the Talakto District Boy Scouts. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be given to the Greater Alabama Council to help our programs and scouts in Madison County. We would love to have as many scout representatives as possible that night, and to spread the word about the event.
    • If anyone is interested in going please let us know and we will see if we can reserve some tables.
  • We will be staffing the finish line again this year at the Cotton Row Run on May 28th, volunteers needed, please let Mr. Cooley know if you can help.  More details to come!
  • The final summer camp payment is due.
    • Fundraising money has been applied to eligible scout’s accounts and will offset some of the cost for the final payment.
  • If you haven’t, be sure to let Mr. Ogle know ASAP what merit badges you want to take at summer camp.


  • Next meeting: May 21st
    • We will be busy the next few weeks at our meetings with a night for summer camp swim tests, trailer unloading, and summer camp Q&A for parents.  I will let everyone know what Monday each of these will be as I am able to secure dates.

Summer Camp:

  • Sequoyah
    • June 17th – 23rd
    • Payments of $75, $75, & $115
    • Final payment amount will vary depending on success and scout participation in fundraising.

  • August 2nd: Next Chapter Meeting (no meetings in June and July)
  • NOAC
    • Our lodge has 6 unfilled slots for NOAC. These can be filled by adults or youth with council approval. Please contact David Murphree and Will Hamm by emailing noac2018@coosa50.orgto reserve one of these slots. Cost is $650 for adults or $580 for youth. Any unfilled slots that remain by May 19th will be returned to National.A Coosa NOAC contingent meeting will be held at the May 19th Hawk Day at Camp Sequoyah. If you are unable to attend, please email David & Will. Final payments are due this month.

      Please be prepared to pay online or at the May 19th Hawk Day.

  • Hawk Day
    • On May 19th, Coosa Lodge will be putting on a Hawk Day at Camp Sequoyah. We will be helping the summer camp staff prepare for the camping season. Work will begin at 8am and go until around 4 pm. No food will be served so be prepared to bring a sack lunch
  • Induction (Ordeal) Weekend: August 17-19 at Camp Sequoyah
  • Fall Fellowship: November 16th – 18th

Reminder: We are a FULL UNIFORM TROOP (Scout pants included).  Several boys have been coming to meetings out of uniform. The troop has several pairs of scout pants in the scout closet – Just look! WE WANT TO LOOK OUR BEST!!!
